A Universe of StarsUn universo de estrellas

Three stars, no labels, and a guess about which is biggest. You separate the four things that get confused with each other - mass, radius, temperature and luminosity - learn to read the diagram that organizes them, meet giants and supergiants and white dwarfs where they actually sit on it, work out why the heaviest stars live the shortest lives, and count a synthetic population twice to see why the stars you can see are not the stars there are. Everything to that point is built on published models. The last stretch is not: four real spectra, observed by SDSS, and what a color turns out not to be able to tell you.

Seventy to ninety minutes, and it can be the first investigation of a stars unit: nothing before it is required beyond the idea that a hotter thing glows differently from a cooler one. It pairs naturally before any investigation on stellar death and after any investigation that has used the word "star" loosely. No calculus. Nothing in it needs sound.Seventy to ninety minutes, and it can be the first investigation of a stars unit: nothing before it is required beyond the idea that a hotter thing glows differently from a cooler one. AccessibilityAccesibilidad

The interface is operable from the keyboard, including the investigations, the measuring tools and the dialogs, which trap focus and return it. Measurements and state changes are announced through a live region, and the canvas carries a text description of what is on it that updates as the system evolves. Automated checks (axe-core) and a set of manual keyboard walkthroughs run in continuous integration on every change.
